Adjective (noun): a part-of-speech that modifies or describes a noun or a pronoun.

An adjective is fundamentally considered as one of the nine parts of speech.

An adjective is essentially a word that tells us more about a noun. It can"describe" or "modify" a noun (The big Rhino was hungry). In this particular example, the adjective is in bold and the noun that it modifies is in italics for you to identify them.

An adjective can often be present BEFORE a noun:

• A green bike.
• A dark skinned man.
• An interesting fact.

It can also sometimes be present AFTER a verb:

• My bike is green.
• The solution became dark.
• His facts seemed interesting.

Another thing about adjectives is that it can also be used to modify pronouns (He is beautiful). Look at these examples:

• They were full.
• I thought it seemed weird.
• Those are not real.
